The history of this project is deeply rooted into the owners’ curiosity and enthusiasm for Europe and France.

When they bought their land in 2016 to build their home in the Bay Area, a few kilometers south of San Francisco, they chose a French architect company, PPF Goujon Studio and a French interior design company, Holocène to conceive their project.

It was the beginning of 3 years of an intense collaboration between USA and France to make this dream come true.

The house is definitively Californian in its volumes and its openings on the outside but also decidedly French in its proportions and details. At first glance, it seems simply modern with its telluric spaces but when you start looking closer at it, you discover a large range of details and surprises that make the depth of the project.

A marble mosaic in the same warm tone as the stone to signal the entrance like a carpet would do, a textured stone to frame the doors and anchor the walls thickness, the inside of the staircase ribbon in high glossy cherry-wood hidden inside a simple off-white plaster shell, a glass door that displays the following room like in an “hôtel particulier” with thin bronze mullions, a natural wood marquetry mural behind a bar like a blink of an eye to the French Riviera landscapes.
The vocabulary that spreads through the rooms has one leitmotiv: the know-how and craftsmanship of the artisans who are making it. The stone, the bronze and the joinery are made in France, shipped overseas, then laid on site.

A comfortable, Californian-sized house with an European flavor in the details.
Surrounded by a flourishing garden...
Filled with owners’ enthusiasm, energy and high taste level !

A designer’s blessing !
