Sea views

Interior architecture and decoration for a private villa in south of France

« How could we turn this real-estate-looking villa into our own home ? »
Sea views are amazing but volumes and ceiling heights are not as generous as in the clients previous home.
And the very minamilstic style of the house was derouting to them. How could we bring the feeling they loved in the previous one, and how could it blend with the existing vocabulary of this new one ... ?

The first answer was to redefine the volumes of the villa. We created a new staircase linking the 3 floors so the house become a real 4 bedrooms family house.
Then back to the entrance level, we separated the kitchen from the entrance behind glass panel while converting the garage into a proper entrance and additonal laundry. Family spirit was already restored from a functional perspective !

Then for decoration, we decided to introduce natural oak through the house as a common thread.
This addition of warm wood together with a sharp «editing» of their existing pieces of furniture brings us to this balanced atmosphere between pure volume and warm ambiance. Enlighted by high glossy rosewood on custom made furniture for the touch of elegance !
